Memory Game
Dealing today’s cards…
A free card matching game with a new deal every day
This is the classic memory match game, also called Concentration or Pairs: sixteen cards, eight matching pairs of shapes, all face down. Flip two per turn. If they match, they stay up; if not, they turn back over and you try to remember where they were. Today’s deal is the same for every player, so your turn count is a fair comparison.
How to get a low score
- Sweep in order. Early on, flip cards in a fixed pattern (row by row) so you’re building a map, not guessing randomly.
- Use known cards. If your first flip shows a shape you’ve already seen, go straight for its partner.
- Name what you see. Saying “star, top left” under your breath gives your memory a second hook besides the picture.
- Don’t waste the second flip. When the first card is new, flip an unseen card rather than one you already know, so you learn more per turn.
The absolute minimum is 8 turns, and that takes pure luck. A careful player with a good strategy usually finishes in the low teens.
Questions players ask
What is the Concentration card game?
A game where all cards are laid face down and players turn over two at a time, trying to find matching pairs from memory. This version uses shapes instead of playing cards.
Is the memory game free?
Yes, and it needs no account. A new shuffle arrives every day at midnight your time.
Is it good for kids?
Yes. The shapes are simple and colour-coded, the cards are large enough for small fingers, and there’s no time pressure.
What counts as a turn?
Each time you flip a second card, that’s one turn, whether or not it’s a match.
